The Sobieszewska Island is one of the three islands of the Polish Baltic coast. The island boasts the statute of an ecological island - A Protected Landscape Area, that guarantees the preservation of nature in a natural state. The Sobieszewo Island has about 35 km2 and covers over 1000 ha of forest. Its wide, clean, 11 km beach is the longest in Gdansk. The Island is a refuge of peace and wildlife. It is influenced by its location between the branches of the Vistula and the sea coast and the fact that most of the island's surface is covered by forests and beaches.
