Due to intensive sunlight and air movement, the climate of the Sobieszewo Island has specific hardening properties. It provides valuable iodine for health, which is absorbed during walks and bathing in the sea. In turn, pine forests growing on the Island protect against winds and secrete resinous bactericidal substances.
The lack of any industry and the wealth of iodine make the holiday spent on the Island a boon to the body. The proximity of the sea and the significant elevation of neighboring plateaus affect the formation of a specific microclimate.
The area of the Sobieszewo Island is also characterized by a small amount of precipitation compared to the surrounding highlands. This is due to the specific location of the Island in the Vistula Delta, in the so-called rain shadow of the plateau of the Kashubian Lake District, which stops rain-bearing western winds.
